2009 Park Improvements

July, 24, 2009

Webster Harvest Days Committee Adds 5 Trees to Webster Park
The Webster Harvest Days Committee today added 5 new Trees to the Park this year, 3 to the area around the baseball field's home field's bleachers and 2 to the main park area before the main building today.  The trees are part of an on-going effort to make improvements to the park each year.  These improvements are made possible by donations from the local N.E.W. LIONS and Knecht's Nurseries. The Harvest Days Committee wishes to thank Joe Horejsi for all his help in getting the trees planted this year too!  The committee is making over $2500.00 dollars worth of improvements to the park this year.

Three new trees around the Home Bleachers of the Baseball field.  The trees planted are 1st a Autumn Blaze Maple, a Skyline Honey Locust and a Discovery Elm.
These threes are between 15 and 20 feet tall and will grow into very nice shade trees.

Also added were two smaller Maple trees to the front part of the park before the main building.
These 6 foot trees will grow to be a great addition to the park and provide nice shade too!

Earlier in the summer the Webster Harvest Days Committee added signs for the Nature Trail to the Park.
The Nature Trail is one of the Park's hidden treasures!

2008 Park Improvements

October 13, 2008 (update)
Fall Colors from our new Trees!

The Autumn Blaze Maples more then live up to their billing!

The Webster Harvest Days Committee added these trees to the park earlier this spring (2008) and most everyone has
really enjoyed looking at them and even getting a bit of shade from them already.  If you were lucky enough to
see them this fall, you will understand just how great an addition they are!  The colors are a
beautiful addition to the park, adding colors not in abundance in the area!  Stop out and see them!

Webster Harvest Days Adds New Bench to Park
 Thanks To N.E.W. Lions Donation

The Webster Harvest Days Committee added another park bench to the children's play area on July 22, 2008.  The bench was added to give parents additional seating while their children play in the park.  The committee, with the help of a donation from the N.E.W. Lions, was able to purchase the bench for the park as part of their on going commitment to support the Webster Community Park.  Profits from the 2007 Webster Harvest Days Celebration were also used on these 2008 projects by the Harvest Days Committee.

Webster Harvest Days Committee Re-Builds Benches & Tables
The Webster Harvest Days Committee completed a much needed remodeling job at the Webster Park on the permanent picnic tables and benches in the children's playground.  Much of the wood on these fixtures had warped and rotted out over the years and had become difficult to use.  The committee, with the help of a donation from the N.E.W. Lions, was able to replace all the old wood with new treated lumber and new bolts.  In addition, the committee has ordered another park bench that will be added permanently to the children's playground as well.
